Cold

cj is 13 and he's all alone. His older sister hates him, his parents are too busy to deal with him, and his little sister just wants to play with her stupid barbie dolls all day. He used to have his brother, his best friend in the whole world... but he's not around anymore.

Without anyone to talk to, he talks to himself, and his action figures. They're pretty cool. He thinks he can even hear them talk back to him if he listens closely enough.. but that's probably all in his head.

Sometimes he talks to the neighborhod pets, too. Sometimes they sit and let him pet them, but sometimes they make him mad.

Once, he choked his neighbor's cat to death because it scratched him. He didn't mean to. He just felt so.. empty all of a sudden. He hid it under his porch afterward, and he cried himself to sleep that night.

He doesn't spend much time at home anymore. Lately, he's been exploring the town, looking for all the hidden alleys and abandoned houses that seem like palaces when you're a kid with enough imagination. There's always something new to see.

But it's winter in the midwest and it's getting colder every day. It's dangerous out there for kids with no one to protect them.

nina is a somewhat egotistical 17 year old girl who really should be applying for part-time jobs or thinking about college, but instead she spends all day growing her online empire and getting into controversies you couldn't even dream of. She is convinced that she's really an angel wolf's soul trapped inside a human body. That's right, AND she's the princess of a faraway realm who's rulers are going to call her back to her rightful throne any day now. If you couldn't tell her parents also don't give her much attention.

she's in an alleged "band" which is really just her and her friend making awful techno music on garageband. She's sure she's gonna be famous.

Lately her friend has been saying they "suck" and "won't ever make it", and also stupid things like "i don't like how you talk to me" and "this friendship takes too much out of me" and "why do you just use me to get what you want?". What a loser, right? I mean, what the hell does "emotional manipulation" even mean? She'll get over it.

What do these two trainwrecks have to do with eachother? Well, not much yet. But we'll see where the story goes.
